Snoqualmie Snow Troopers

Hyak Lap

Left Hyak base w/ 9" of new and a 46" base, 28 deg and a graupel/frozen pellet mix falling @ 7:15am . The snow was still light, however a 1/16" crust had formed 3" down during the night. Arriving the top the mix was rain/frozen rain. Welcome back to the NW snow(Silver lining -it's what makes us strong). There was now a crust starting to form. De-skinning and starting down the Dino line stopping at the first steep pitch, I released a 20 yard wide fracture w/ all 9"+ the non rider packed snow sliding down the slope w/ me following in the bed surface(kind of weird using those words for Hyak). Good day to rest the legs. The inversion was @ 4500 ft. ruling out Alpental for me. "Live to Ski Anoter Day" TNT
